Do you know that these hadith and quran are recorded based upon cases or situations? Don't just read the translations and then pass your judgement on these issues. Read the explanation and elaborations on why such statements are made from reliable books and records. Then, the means will justify the end! Finally, don't put the blame on the Prophet Muhammad. He did not make these rules, Allah (God) almighty is the One who sets the revelation...Muhammad PBUH is just a Prophet (a messanger) of Allah SWT (like Jesus, Moses, Abraham and Adam).
